Jane qualified as a solicitor in 1991. She was a partner at Laytons, Bristol then from 2001 to 2012 a partner and head of construction at Cripps Harries Hall in Tunbridge Wells. She opened Ryland CLS in 2012 providing construction law consultancy services to law firms and appointments to act as adjudicator. Her expertise includes the commercial property, retail, higher education and rail sectors and she has worked for government departments.
She has written for Building magazine, Architects Journal, New Law Journal, Construction Law Journal and the Estates Gazette. She is a regular speaker on construction law topics. She is a member of TeCSA, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Society of Construction Law.
